Bummer!!!!!!! Sunday morning at about 1:00 am, Jim woke up with a stomach ache. From that time on, until about 10:00 am, he spent most of the time in the bathroom!!! :-( We don't know if it was a side effect from the chemo treatment he had on Friday or if he picked up a "bug" someplace, but it really doesn't matter as there was no way that he'd be able to make it to the much anticipated fish fry later in the day!!!! :-( In fact, since he hadn't slept much during the night, he slept much of yesterday. When he was awake, he just watched some TV while trying to re-hydrate himself as much as possible.
Linda called Dee Dee to let her and Dave know that she and Jim wouldn't be able to make it to the fish fry. Of course Dee Dee understood and said that she and Dave would be in our area sometime in March and would try to stop by for awhile for a visit.
I hope they can. I'm sure Jim and Linda would enjoy visiting with them.
Don't really have much else to report. It sure was nice that Jim didn't have to head over to get a radiation treatment this morning. In fact, he actually slept in a little, getting up about 7:00 instead of 5:00 or 5:30. ;-)
A Quote to Ponder : “Never let yesterday's disappointments overshadow tomorrow's dreams.”

Don't Tell Jim
DeBary, FL.
71 deg. overcast, no wind.
Forecast = Mostly cloudy. High near 80F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph.
Don't tell Jim I'm telling you this cause I'm sure he doesn't want it out, but he hasn't been feeling too well lately.
Actually, it started way back last spring. He had this nagging cough and some chest congestion that he just couldn't shake. He's never been one for running to the doctor, so he just shrugged it off and we left for our trip up to Illinois for the summer.
Well, throughout the summer it's gradually gotten worse and by the middle of the summer he was having trouble doing very much as he couldn't catch his breath after doing just minor activity. By the time we left Rantoul, he was having trouble hooking up Nora to the back of Big RED and by the time we arrived back down here in Florida, he'd have to stop and rest a couple times to catch his breath during the hook-up or un-hooking procedure.
I'm telling you this because, to be honest, Linda and I are kind of worried and I think Jim is too. The other day, Laura and Lindsey stopped by and Laura helped Linda find a doctor that would take new patients so that he could go and see what's going on.
He has an appointment on Monday, the 23rd and I'm pretty sure that once he sees the doctor, chest x-rays will be ordered, so I don't know if we'll really know anything until that's accomplished.
I'll be sure to update you as soon as I find anything out.
Did you know that today is "National Peanut Butter Fudge Day"?

Rantoul To Indy and Mike's Not Feeling Well
Indianapolis, IN.
52 deg. light rain, no wind.
Forecast = Rain showers in the morning with thunderstorms developing for the afternoon. High 66F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
After some early morning rain, the skies partially cleared and by the time Jim was ready to go out and start getting things ready, there was quite a bit of sun. :-)
Linda got up about 8:00 and after she finished breakfast, she and Jim started packing up in earnest. In fact, by 9:40, we were hooked up and pulling out of the campground. Actually we normally could have been ready earlier, but after sitting for 76 days, both of them had to get back in the "groove" again and get their system down again.
We took some county roads South to I-74 near St. Joseph, IL and then turned East on 74 and followed it over to Indy. 74 was in pretty good condition and we rolled right along until we got into Indiana where we had a few construction areas. The biggest one was about 35 miles West of Indy where they were resurfacing the right lane on a long stretch of road.
Once near Indy we turned South on I-465 and followed it South, around the SW part of the city. Once on the South side of Indy, we turned off on IN-37 and took it SW for about a mile and to the Lake Haven Retreat.
As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing special about this RV Park, but when you're in the Indianapolis area and you want to visit someone on the South side of the city, your choices are limited. It's an OK park but the sites are close together and you get quite a bit of road noise from Rt. 37. You get full hook-ups with cable TV and free Wi-Fi for the $30.54 fee, (and that's including the Good Sam Discount).
It was right at 12:00 CDT when we pulled into the park, so it only took us 2 hours and 20 minutes to travel the 137 miles over here.
If you remember from yesterday's post, I said that Linda's cousin, Mike was having some health problems. Well, he's not feeling well at all, so Linda and Jim didn't go over to his house. When Linda talked to Mike on the phone in the afternoon, he was still trying to get in to see a doctor. :-(
Hope your feeling better, Mike. We'll see you next time we're in the area!
Today, the plan is to head over to Cincinnati and then South into Kentucky. Linda has another cousin who lives down there.
Did you know that there are more than 4 billion cell phones in use? About 3 million cell phones are sold every day.

Stepping Forward Again
DeBary, Fl.
72 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast = Partly cloudy with isolated storms. Highs around 93°F. Heat index around 102°F. Northwest wind 1 to 9 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 20%.
Linda's appetite was slowly returning and she was eating some but was still very weak. In fact she was so weak that Jim and Linda called Laura and Lindsey to come over to help get her to her scheduled Chemo Dr's appointment yesterday. The appointment was to have the normal blood test, but when she told them about being sick and hadn't been eating or drinking much, they checked her out and determined that she was severely dehydrated, so they gave her a saline transfusion.
You see, the chemo treatments also dehydrate and that, along with being sick, really took it's toll on Linda.
Anyway, they took her back to the chemo treatment room and gave her the saline transfusion. While this was happening, Laura and Lindsey went back home and Jim came back here to the house after stopping to Big RED a drink of #2 diesel and stopping at Harbor Freight to pick up a bottle jack to keep in the travel trailer in case it should get a flat tire.
About 12:00 Linda called Jim and told him that she was finished with the transfusion and that she was ready to come back home. Jim called Laura and Lindsey and they headed over to the chemo place also.
When they returned here to the house, I couldn't believe how much better Linda was feeling and how much more energy she had!!!! When she left, she had a lot of trouble going down the steps, but when she returned, she came back up them with just a little support from Lindsey!!!! Then, after she was settled in her chair, she asked Laura if she would make her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
She then proceeded to eat the whole sandwich!!!!
By yesterday evening, she was still feeling well, so Jim headed over to Steak & Shake and brought back a couple "Steakburgers" for dinner. Linda ate about 1/2 of hers and said that she felt over-full, but that's normal after not eating much for a long time.
No real plans for today. Hopefully Linda will still be feeling good when she wakes up.
Did you know that when you take a step, you are using up to 200 muscles?

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back
DeBary, FL.
70 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast = Partly cloudy with isolated storms. Highs around 90°F. Heat index around 95°F. East northeast wind 4 to 13 MPH, gusting to 18 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 20%.
Jim and Linda did get that Laundry done on Friday morning and then around 11:00 they headed over to the 4 B's Restaurant for breakfast. On the way back they stopped by Winn Dixie and picked up a few things that they were out of. Then, in the afternoon, they headed over to the Chemo place where Linda received the injection to help her bones produce the white blood cells that her body looses when she gets the Chemo treatments.
Saturday, not a whole lot happened. Linda wasn't feeling especially well, and by afternoon, the injection side effects started. (Or at least that's what they thought they were). :-(
By Saturday evening, Linda wasn't feeling well at all and only ate a little bit for dinner. Then as the evening progressed, she started feeling even worse and by about 10:00 PM, she was in the bathroom, sick to her stomach!! This lasted all through the night and all day Sunday and into the evening, when it finally stopped.
What caused this? Well, we really don't know. She's never had a side effect anything like this from the injection and she and Jim had basically the same food at the restaurant and here at home so it remains a mystery.
Anyway, between the fatigue from the Chemo and the fatigue from being sick for so long, she ended up being really weak and Jim ended up helping her in and out of the bathroom for the best part of the night and almost all day on Sunday.
Not really how either one of them envisioned Father's Day. :-(
Yesterday morning, Linda was able to keep a little food down and was able make her way into the living room so that she could sit in her recliner. Then in the afternoon Laura and Ashley stopped by and stayed for a couple hours. There really wasn't much Laura could do, but Linda felt better having her and Ashley here.
As of this morning, she seems to be feeling better, but of course is still very weak and is having a lot of problems with dizziness. Besides being dizzy from the chemo, she's probably dehydrated also, so today, she'll need to try to drink lots of liquids.
So, life goes on. Two steps forward and One step back. But, Linda is done with all of the treatments and now the process of recovering from all the treatments and their side effects begins. I'm sure there'll be some setbacks, but she should eventually, (they say that full recovery from the treatments Linda had may take a full year or more), recover completely.
Did you know that Paul McCartney dreamed the melody of "Yesterday" one night and immediately wrote the music the next morning? He then looked around for a month to make sure that he didn't subconsciously plagiarize it from somebody else.

Mike And Family Stop By
DeBary FL.
74 deg. overcast, no wind.
Forecast = Partly cloudy this morning with a chance of rain, then a chance of a thunderstorm in in the afternoon. High of 91F. Winds from the NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
Mike called about 10:30 yesterday morning and said that they were about to leave their hotel down by Disney World. He also said that Dillon had been running a slight fever from time to time and at one point he had that rash again. :-( But, , , , it was decided that they would swing by here anyway and that Dillon would stay in the car with someone, and not come inside of the house or get too close to Linda.
So, that's what they did. At first, Gina stayed in the car with Dillon and then after awhile, Susan, (Gina's mother), stayed with him.
Soon though, Dillon started getting very upset that he couldn't come inside, so everyone except Linda went outside. Jim talked to Dillon and explained that Linda was also sick and that she had to go to the hospital soon. But, she couldn't go there to get better if she had a fever or a rash.
He seemed to understand, and soon there was a smile on his face as Jim asked him all about the things he had seen and done at Disney World. ;-)
They were here for about an hour and just before they left, Jim took these 2 photos of them. The first one is of Savanna, Dillon and Brenna. Dillon is holding his birthday card that Jim had given him, and was proudly wearing the hat that he had gotten at Disney. And, of course, they all were wearing their Disney shirts. ;-)
Mike and Gina got in on this photo.
So, it was a short visit, but at least they got to come. Mike, Gina, Susan and the girls got to see the inside of the house and hopefully Dillon had a good time with "Grandpa" even though he didn't get to come inside.
Not much happened the rest of the day. Jim and Linda did go to Bob Evans to have breakfast for dinner and then watched TV until bedtime.
Did you know that Disney World opened October 1, 1971 and is the most visited attraction in the world, with attendance of 52.5 million annually?
Boy!!!! It was sure good to see Mike and his family again. :-)

The Best Laid Plans
DeBary, FL.
67 deg. mostly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast = Partly cloudy with a chance of rain. High of 86F. Winds from the North at 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20%.
Well, the best laid plans just don't work out sometimes.
About 9:30 yesterday morning, Mike called from Northern Florida, (where they had spent the night), and informed Jim that Dillon had come down with what looks like chickenpox!!!! He was running a slight fever and had spots on his body that were itching him. :-O
What a bummer!!!!!!!!!
Normally, Jim and Linda would have said to come on here anyway, but being that Linda has all those medical procedures set up, plus probable surgery, it was decided that it would be best if Mike and his family wouldn't stop by on their way to Disney World. :-(
So, instead of being with family, the day was spent doing a few things around the house, going to the grocery store and watching football on TV.
It was very disappointing that they weren't able to come, but I really feel sorry for Dillon. He just turned 6 on Saturday, and I'm sure he was really looking forward to Disney World. :-(
Did you know that Chickenpox has been observed in other primates, including chimpanzees and gorillas?

Record Breaking Weather, Still Not Feeling Well, A.S.A.P. and Dave And Dee Dee
DeBary, FL.
37 deg. clear, N. wind @ 10 mph.
Forecast = Today: Sunny. Highs around 63°F. North northwest wind to 13 MPH.
Tonight: Clear. Lows around 43°F. Wind chill around 39°F. North wind 5 to 11 MPH.
Did you see what the temperature is down here in DeBary? Yep, that's no misprint, Jim's thermometer, which seems to be very accurate is showing 37 degrees and there's more time for the temperature to drop yet before the sun comes up!!!! I wouldn't be at all surprised if the temperature would drop another 2 or 3 degrees!!!!
Except for the record breaking low temperatures, not much else has been happening here. Linda is still not feeling well, and Jim is not yet up to full speed. Jim adjusted the air pressure in Bobbie T's tires and re-arranged things in the back of CLT.
OH, the other day, Jim noticed some water on the floor, near the tub, in Bobbie T's bathroom. he wiped it up and took off an inspection panel. He said that it looked like a water line fitting was leaking, but he couldn't see for sure. Being that it would be a big hassle to make an appointment and take Bobbie T back to LaMesa, he decided to call Jack from A.S.A.P Mobile RV Repairs, who does a lot of RV Repair work here in DeBary and the surrounding area.
Jack was very busy but he was able to come yesterday morning where he found a couple of problems. It seems as someone else has tried to find this leak and had replaced some of the pipe with improper fittings and pipe, so he changed that. He also found the real problem, which was a plastic elbow that had a pinhole leak and only leaked when it got hot from the hot water going through it to the tub/shower faucet.
Jack was very good and in no time he had the problems repaired at a very reasonable cost. He cleaned everything up and suggested that Jim leave the inspection panel off for a day or so to let everything dry out under the tub.
If you're ever in the area and need some repairs on your RV, (no engine or chassis work), give Jack a call at 386-775-7423, He's one of the "good guys" and will do good work at a very fair price. : )
Very soon, Jim and Linda are going to need to get some groceries. They're out of some of the essentials so even if Linda isn't up to it yet, Jim will probably go to the store and buy them. The laundry basket is full, so the laundry needs to be done, so they really need to go over to the house to do it.
Hopefully, Linda will be feeling a little better today, so they can get at least some of it done.
Oh!!!! Jim got an e-mail from Dave. If you remember, he and Dee Dee were heading back to Illinois and the weather forecast wasn't good at all!!! Well, they made it, but had all kinds of problems. They had snow packed roads, very heavy snow, 10" of unplowed snow once they got off of the Interstate near their home in Central Illinois, almost getting stuck with their truck and 5th wheel trailer crossing the Illinois Central RR tracks and getting the trailer backed into their driveway, (which took almost an hour).
They're safe, but they can't use their car because the trailer is blocking the driveway. There's at least 10" of snow on the ground where the trailer needs to be parked and it's uphill, and they'll have to try to dig the snow out of the truck bed so that they can get to the things that they have stored in there.
Boy!!! Am I glad I'm in Florida where the temperature is now 36 degrees!!! ; )
Did you know that the greatest snowfall in a day was 75.8 inches in Silver Lake, Colorado; April 14-15, 1921?
Woof!!!!

Woof!!!!

Allergies? Laundry and Pizza
DeBary, FL.
69 deg. cloudy, S. wind @ 7 mph.
Forecast = Today: Partly cloudy with isolated storms. Highs around 88°F. Heat index around 100°F. Windy, with a south southwest wind 14 to 23 MPH, gusting to 32 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 50%. Precipitation amounts between one quarter and one half of an inch possible.
Tonight: Partly cloudy with scattered storms. Lows around 61°F. Windy, with a west southwest wind 15 to 20 MPH, gusting to 28 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 50%. Precipitation amounts up to one quarter inch possible.
It was Friday when Jim's head started blocking up and he started sneezing coughing along with sore throat and a runny nose. Jim has a lot of trouble with allergies and the pollen count has been sky high lately so he figured that was the problem. He had also been laying on the ground, under Bobbie T to get those chair bolts removed, so he figured that also made it worse.
Now, I'm definitely not an expert on human ailments, but I'm kind of doubting if it was allergies or not! He's still coughing and sneezing, but the nose and throat are getting better, so I'm thinking he just caught a bad cold somewhere.
So, , , , , Friday, he didn't do much but rest and drink lots of fluids. He also took some vitamin C, which he figured couldn't hurt and used some throat lozenges for his sore throat.
Yesterday, he and Linda loaded laundry in the back of CLT and took it over to the house. Once there, Linda did the laundry, (3 loads worth), and Jim went through some boxes to find a few things that he and Linda will be needing when we head North two weeks from today and rested in his Barcalounger. ; )
One of the main things that he wanted to find was their weather radio, since we'll be getting up into tornado territory in the spring when there's a good chance of a storm. Besides some other small items, he also loaded his air compressor in the back of CLT. CLT will have to carry it now because there's no compartment in Bobbie T that large enough.
It was getting late buy the time the laundry was done so before they left the house, they called the local pizza place here in DeBary to order a pizza. Then, they stopped by and picked it up on the way back here to Highbanks.
Jim's still doing some coughing and sneezing and the weather report doesn't doesn't sound too good, so I doubt if much will be happening around here today. Probably, Jim and Linda will just kick back and watch TV or something.
