We're Still Here and CG Photos

As you can see, we didn't leave Cullman yesterday. The weather continued to look nasty up by Nashville, and we had rain here until just after noon. Besides that, we're really not in much of a hurry. ;-)

After the rain stopped, Jim unhooked Nora from Big RED and then he and Linda took Big Red and headed for a Drug Store. Linda needed a few items so they found a Rite-Aid Store. Then, as long as they were out and about, Jim filed Big RED's tank with #2 diesel fuel at a Shell station which is just East of I-65.

After they returned, Jim hooked Nora back up to Big RED and then got out his camera and took a few photos of the Campground.

For Dinner, Jim got out his grill and cooked a nice thick juicy steak. (Boy it sure smelled good!!!) While it was cooking, Linda cooked some baked beans and made some garlic bread inside. ;-) The rest of the evening was spent watching TV and reading.

I'm quite sure we'll be leaving here today.  I think both Jim and Linda are getting kind of "itchy" to get back to the Prairie Pines Campground in Rantoul. By my calculations, we should get there either Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on how Linda feels

Feeling Better and A Trip To Harbor Freight

I know, it's been quite awhile since I've posted but it's been pretty slow around here in DeBary.

Linda is finally starting to feel a little better. The bone/joint pain from the injection she had last Friday to help the bones produce more blood cells has been pretty bad this time, but I think she's over the worst of it. That should be the last of those injections until she resumes the chemo treatments, after she completes the 8 weeks of radiation treatments.

Jim hasn't been doing much, he's been mostly helping Linda. When her bones and joints ache, it's very hard for her to move around much, so he's been getting things for her and helping in any way he can so she doesn't have to move too much.

Yesterday evening, he took CLT (Cute Little Truck)  and headed over to Harbor Freight. I knew that he had been doing some research on the Internet, and I guess he decided on what he wanted, because he came back here with 2 large boxes!!!

You see, he's been getting really "itchy" just sitting around here, watching TV, surfing the Internet, reading and taking naps, so he's decided to start procuring some power tools for the workshop. So far, he's bought some hand tools, such as clamps and other small items, a circular saw, (Skillsaw), and now whatever is in those 2 boxes he brought home last night.

I don't know what he has in mind as far as projects, but from what I've seen when we lived in the house in Illinois, he has made some pretty nifty things.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what he comes up with. ;-)

The Best Laid Plans

Well, the best laid plans just don't work out sometimes.

About 9:30 yesterday morning, Mike called from Northern Florida, (where they had spent the night), and informed Jim that Dillon had come down with what looks like chickenpox!!!! He was running a slight fever and had spots on his body that were itching him. :-O

What a bummer!!!!!!!!!

Normally, Jim and Linda would have said to come on here anyway, but being that Linda has all those medical procedures set up, plus probable surgery, it was decided that it would be best if Mike and his family wouldn't stop by on their way to Disney World. :-( 

So, instead of being with family, the day was spent doing a few things around the house, going to the grocery store and watching football on TV.

It was very disappointing that they weren't able to come, but I really feel sorry for Dillon. He just turned 6 on Saturday, and I'm sure he was really looking forward to Disney World. :-(

Nice Weather For A Change?

It looks like we're finally going to have some nice weather for a change, here in Rantoul. : ) They're not forecasting any high winds or storms, so maybe all that tornado warning stuff is over for awhile.

Not a whole lot to report, but I didn't want to skip too many days of posting.

Yesterday was a rainy, drizzly day, but Jim and Linda  were just about out of bread, so about 4:30 they took CLT and headed over to the Casey's gas station here in Rantoul. Since CLT was getting kind of thirsty, (he hadn't had a drink since May 2nd when we were in Moncure, NC), they bought him a drink of 87 octane as well.

Then, instead of coming back here, they took a ride down to Urbana and went to the Steak & Shake Restaurant for dinner.

No big plans for today, but I'm sure that Jim will be outside doing things. He's been getting really itchy, having to be inside so much lately. One of the things he wants to do is to get back to riding his bike. He unloaded it out of the back of CLT shortly after we arrived here in Rantoul, and because of the weather and wind, hasn't ridden it yet!

I think the last time he rode it was when we were in DeBary!!
